How to Train a New Dental Administrator

A new administrator should not have to learn the clinic through guesswork. A structured onboarding plan protects the learner, the team and the patient experience.

Build a role-based plan

List essential knowledge and tasks by week. Separate information the learner must understand from tasks they must demonstrate independently.

Use observation and supervised practice

Show the approved process, explain why it matters, let the learner practise and provide specific feedback. Avoid assigning complex conversations before the person is prepared.

Check progress consistently

Schedule short reviews, document completed training and identify remaining support. Invite questions and update the onboarding plan when clinic systems change.
